Development of investigative competencies in secondary education in the Matala–Angola

Abstract

It is known that one of the current ways to restructure students’ conceptions and guide them toward scientific knowledge is through methodological pluralism, fostering the formation of investigative competencies and the consequent development of research skills. The starting point of this article was the following question: What is the necessity of teaching Scientific Research Methodology at Liceu No. 1068, in the municipality of Matala, Angola? The article is titled: “Development of Investigative Competencies in Secondary Education: An Approach to the Teaching of Scientific Research Methodology at Liceu No. 1068, Matala–Angola”. The main objective is to describe the relevance and necessity of teaching Scientific Research Methodology at Liceu No. 1068, in the municipality of Matala, Angola. This article follows a qualitative study of a descriptive nature, with a bibliographic character, guided by the historical-logical and analysis-synthesis methods. It was concluded that, at the referenced educational level, the teaching of Scientific Research Methodology at Liceu No. 1068 in Matala–Angola represents a substantial demand aimed at promoting skills that facilitate the writing of independent and/or other academic works with a scientific character. In this way, it meets the academic level’s requirements and helps to prevent extensive reproductions of purely mechanical texts.
