Abstract

Pollination is a topic that increasingly requires discussion, yet it is frequently overlooked amidst the vast array of related subjects, such as botany. Based on the experience gained during a supervised internship, this paper reports on a pedagogical intervention conducted at a rural school in the municipality of Bom Jardim, in the Agreste region of Pernambuco. The methodology involved framing the topic through the reading and discussion of a text, followed by students formulating hypotheses and participating in an activity linking pollinators, their habits, and floral adaptations related to pollination. The results showed that the students possessed prior knowledge of the subject and recognized the importance of pollinator conservation and the ecological interactions between pollinators and plants. In addition to fostering student learning, the intervention provided the intern with an opportunity to reflect on their pedagogical practice, thereby contributing to their teacher training and the development of their professional identity.
