Abstract

This article analyzes the presence and circulation of Brazilian theoretical references in the academic production of the Faculty of Education and Psychology at the Pedagogical University of Maputo (UPM), in Mozambique. The study aims to understand how Brazilian authors have contributed to knowledge construction in the Mozambican context, particularly in the field of Education. The investigation is based on an analysis of dissertations and theses defended at the institution, mapping the works cited and identifying the most recurrent Brazilian intellectuals. The systematization of this material reveals a strong articulation between the scientific production of both countries, highlighting historical, cultural, and epistemic ties that strengthen academic exchanges within the Lusophone space. The research shows that Brazilian educational thought plays an important role in the theoretical foundation of Mozambican master’s and doctoral students, especially in methodological and pedagogical discussions and in teacher education. It concludes that this circulation of knowledge between Brazil and Mozambique contributes to consolidating a scientific community of the Global South, reinforcing context-based research perspectives, expanding intercultural dialogues, and valuing knowledge produced in regions historically marked by colonial inequalities.
