Art has a strong potential to represent and create realities. In virtue of this statement, becomes relevant that representations of different subjects be full of humanization and respect for the otherness. The film Café com Canela has this power of representations, as it is played by two black women, in a moving narrative of fraternal love and many affections. This article analyzes the affections that circulate in the film and how the black characters are represented, with an emphasis on their subjectivities We also emphasize that the aforementioned film is an important didactic resource to deal with themes such as love, friendship, depression, in addition to raising discussions about the subjectivity of black women and other diversities.
