Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution must be original and unpublished and not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the editor".
  • The text must be in single space; using 12-point font; use italics instead of underlining (except in URL addresses); figures and tables must be inserted in the text and not at the end of the document in the form of attachments.

Author Guidelines

Submission of papers to the RBBA must indicate the appropriate section for submission.

Articles, reviews and essays that require publication in this journal must comply with the submission conditions and be sent in Word 2003/2007 in two versions, one of which is anonymous.

The unidentified version of the paper must be sent in step 3 of the submission "TRANSFER OF MANUSCRIPT", as this file will be sent for peer review.

It will also be mandatory to forward the document identified with the name of the author (s) in step 4 "TRANSFER OF SUPPLEMENTARY DOCUMENTS”.

The identified version of the work must be named as: 'article-identified', for articles, 'review-identified', for reviews, and, essay-identified' for essays.

Special and / or different sources, figures, tables and graphs that appear in the original document (article, review or essay), should also be sent as a supplementary document with an appropriate extension. (Examples: fonetic.ttf; figure1.jpeg; figure2.png; graph.xls).

 

EDITORIAL STANDARDS FOR PUBLICATION

Modality: articles, reviews, interviews, testimonials.

The accepted languages are Spanish and Portuguese.

The linguistic correction and the content of the text (s) are the sole responsibility of the author (s).

           

Number of characters:

            Article: between 35,000 and 45,000 (including spaces, references, notes and figures).

            Review: between 9,000 and 15,000 (including spaces, references, notes and figures).

            Interviews and testimonials: maximum 20,000 (including references, notes and    figures).

Note: The organization of the text must obey the norms of ABNT.

 

Configuration / Text format for publication:

At the beginning of the work, the following order must be included: title, author, institutional affiliation, electronic address, abstract. The text must also include 3 or 4 keywords. Papers must be accompanied by title, abstract, keywords in the three languages (Spanish, Portuguese and English).

 

Page setup:

Sheet: A4;

Top and left margins 3cm, bottom and right 2cm

"Times New Roman" font;

Font size of the text, title, authorship, institution of origin, research group, funding agency, electronic address: 12;

Title in capital letters, bold and centralized;

Authorship, home institution, research group (if any), funding agency (if any), electronic address, in lower case, to the right of the title;

Abstract containing between 120 and 180 words, with simple spacing according to NBR 6028;

Single space text and justified alignment;

First line indent 1.25 cm;

Notes at the end of the text with font 10;

Pages must not be numbered;

The quotation notes must be presented according to NBR 10520:

Citations in the text, with less than 3 (three) lines, must be placed in quotation marks, accompanied by the author, year and page number. Example: (ALMEIDA, 2020, p. 50).

Citations that exceed three lines should be placed in a size 11 font, with a left indent of 4 (four) centimeters and single spacing. Below the quote and with right alignment, the information should be in parentheses: (author, year, page).

 

 

Criteria for the use of figures, tables, charts and graphs:

  1. They can be used in the development of the text or in an attachment, always referring to its content and location;
  2. They should preferably be aligned centrally;
  3. They must be used in such a way that they can be read clockwise.

 

Note: Whatever the type of illustration (drawings, diagrams, flowcharts, photographs, graphs, maps, organization charts, plans, pictures, portraits and others), its identification must appear at the bottom, preceded by the designative word, followed by its number. order of occurrence in the text, in Arabic numerals, of the respective title and / or explanatory caption in a brief and clear way, dispensing consultation of the text, and of the source. The illustration should be inserted as close as possible to the section to which it refers, according to the graphic project (Item 5.9 of ABNT 14724).

At the end of the article, the list of references should be included, in alphabetical order, according to ABNT NBR 6023:

The essential elements are: author (s), title or work presented, subtitle (if any), followed by the expression "In:", title of the event, number of the event (if any), year and place of realization, title of the document (annals, minutes, topic, themes, etc.), location, publisher, date of publication and start and end page of the referenced part.
