Abstract

This article looks at the significant role played by two Spanish fiction series in promoting linguistic and cultural diversity, "La Casa de Papel" and "Merlí". The study highlights how these contemporary productions not only entertain, but also play a crucial role in the dissemination of Spanish language and culture. By exploring the content of the series, the article highlights how they reflect and incorporate cultural, historical and linguistic elements, providing viewers with an authentic immersion in Spanish reality. In addition, the text highlights how serialized works serve as effective tools in the teaching and learning of Spanish as a second language, contributing to the expansion of the language's global reach. In summary, the article emphasizes the relevance of contemporary Spanish fiction series as powerful vehicles for linguistic-cultural dissemination, highlighting their positive impact on promoting the Spanish language and creating a deeper understanding of Spanish culture globally. Finally, by analyzing serial works, the article highlights how these contemporary productions incorporate authentic cultural and linguistic elements, offering viewers an immersive experience in the Spanish language and culture. In addition, the text explores how the series can contribute significantly to the development of bilingualism, either through constant exposure to the Spanish language or even through specific teaching and learning strategies implemented in the narratives, either with the association of Castilian-Catalan or Castilian-Portuguese.
