Abstract

This article presents the results obtained in the research carried out with students in the 11th Class of the Cabinda Teaching School, concerning the Application of Complex Numbers in Solving 2nd Grade Equations. A Complex Number  is an ordered pair  of Real numbers  and  with the operations of addition, multiplication and the equality relation written in the form . In his teaching and learning, he came across a problematic situation which led to the following scientific problem: How to contribute to improving the teaching-learning process of Complex Numbers in the 11th Class in Cabinda Teaching? To respond to this problem, the following general objective was formulated: to develop a methodological proposal that contributes to improving the application of Complex Numbers in the Resolution of 2nd Degree Equations in the 11th Class in Cabinda Teaching. The following methods were used for its development: theoretical, empirical and mathematical. The data collection techniques used were: the questionnaire and the test. However, Mathematics teachers at the Cabinda Teaching School in Angola must use an appropriate methodology that encourages and facilitates students' learning of Complex Numbers and their application in Solving 2nd Grade Equations.
