Importance of the local curriculum in the teaching-learning process

The present study deals with the importance of the Local Curriculum in the Teaching and Learning Process, where it is intended to understand the importance of the Local Curriculum in the Teaching and Learning Process of the local curriculum. And in a specific way it aims to describe the importance of the local curriculum; identify the input of the members of the board of choice in the design of the local curriculum, and; identify strategies to improve the school-community relationship. In order to achieve these objectives, qualitative and bibliographic research was chosen. The data collection process was carried out using semi-structured interview techniques and document analysis. The interview was conducted with six subjects, namely a director; a deputy director; two teachers and two parents from one of the primary schools located in the city of Lichinga, in Niassa Province, Mozambique. From the results obtained, it is concluded that the local curriculum is important in valuing the local culture and in the development of the student's meaningful learning. And for there to be a harmonious relationship between school and community, it is essential that school management is participatory and transparent.
