This research analyzes the role of the school in the development of students' vocational identity at Muchenga General Secondary School, addressing the need for support in the vocational development of adolescents and young people seeking self-affirmation. The study aims to identify concrete actions undertaken by the school to promote this identity, describe these actions, and suggest strategies to strengthen the students' vocational development process. This is a qualitative study with a bibliographic and documentary approach, involving interviews with 30 second-cycle students and 6 teachers, including members of the school administration. The results indicate that little has been done to develop young people’s vocational identity, potentially leading to disillusionment in career choices and low professional performance. Based on these findings, it is suggested that the school promote lectures, recreational activities, and theater, as well as partnerships with higher education institutions in Psychology and with the Ministry of Education to provide specialized vocational guidance professionals to support students.
