Abstract

Reading to understand the world, having reading as an instrument of access to it and the school environment, as one of the spaces to develop the taste for reading, are key elements in the development of literary reading practices among the youngsters from High School. The literary text is still considered by the students of the Basic Education, as a whole, an arduous task, which makes one of the main complicators for the practices of reading that foment the formation of readers. We intend, through this qualitative research, to present some ways for teachers and high school students in public schools to acquire the habit and the pleasure of practicing literary readings inside and outside the school sphere. We have noticed that, despite the suggestions suggested in this article, the taste for literary texts is a constant that has always existed, long before, even the period of schooling, therefore, it is up to everyone - society in general - to foster spaces, policies and training so that practices of literary readings are part of the daily life of all.
