UMA ANÁLISE SOBRE O FILME "A HORA DA ESTRELA", DE SUZANA AMARAL E OBRA HOMÔNIMA DE CLARICE LISPECTOR

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze the elements that make thework A hora da estrela, by Clarice Lispector (1920-1977), with the film “A hora da Estrela” by Suzana Amaral (1930-2020) converge. With this in mind, we start from the notion that Rodrigo S.M., narrator of the work, places himself in the narrative as the other, and Macabéa, the character he speaks of, is the self. Both are elements of self-awareness, that is, the way in which Macabéa relates to the world. Thus, there is a transposition of the work A hora da estrela to the film “A hora da Estrela”, in which interpretation becomes the mediating element. While in thework it is interpreted by the word, in the film the interpretation occurs through the filmmaker's gaze, followed by the câmera and the actors. In the feature film, it is possible to see the invention of cinematographic situations that, in some film sequences, do not correspond to the work in its literary format, but that manage to translate Rodrigo SM'sintention. Thus, it is concluded that in the work the protagonist relates to the world through the mediation of the narrator Rodrigo SM, and in the cinematographic sequence, the  positioningofthe câmera reinforces the notion that the characteris crossed by the other, recognizing itself through it.
