At the beginning of the 21st century the method of research Design-Based Research (DBR) has appeared in Education, connecting investigation and practice in education and involving every participant of the educational scenario: students, teachers and/or other stakeholders. Everybody becomes actor of the research. This chapter presents a brief vision of the historical origin of DBR, showing the evolution of research action and participated action up to the concept of DBR and the DBR method . It also argues how DBR can be an appropriate method to research, which resorts to digital as its operating environment. Three axes are outlined to find a balance
